Comfortmat Ghost is a universal anti-vibration material for soundproofing cars, campervans, and RVs. Thanks to its modern butyl compound, it effectively dampens vibrations, adheres firmly to sheet metal, and serves as an ideal first layer of sound insulation, followed by thermal or acoustic insulation.

With a thickness of 2.5 mm and an MLF of 0.27, Ghost is primarily suitable for body parts with medium vibration loads. It offers an excellent balance between effectiveness, weight, and price, making it a great choice for most common campervan and passenger car conversions.

Comfortmat Ghost is applied directly to the car body's sheet metal, where it reduces resonances, strengthens individual parts of the vehicle, and creates an ideal base for further thermal or acoustic insulation.

For maximum effectiveness, we recommend thoroughly rolling the material with a pressure roller after application. The butyl layer must adhere perfectly to the sheet metal – proper application has a crucial impact on the resulting vibration damping.

Why choose Comfortmat Ghost?

  • Excellent balance between effectiveness, weight, and price.
  • 2.5 mm thickness for universal use.
  • MLF value of 0.27 for effective vibration damping.
  • Modern butyl compound with high adhesion to metal.
  • Strong aluminum foil for higher durability and long lifespan.
  • Matte surface with diamond structure for better adhesion of the next insulation layer.
  • Resistance to water, humidity, and oils.
  • Helps protect the car body from corrosion.
  • Stable properties in summer and winter conditions.
  • Easy installation without the need for heating.

Where is Comfortmat Ghost suitable?

Thanks to its universal thickness, Ghost is suitable for most parts of a car or van. It is most commonly used on:

  • doors,
  • side panels,
  • roof,
  • trunk lid,
  • wheel arches,
  • torpedo,
  • fenders,
  • area under the rear seats.

💡 Pro tip from Pimp Your Van: Ghost is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to thoroughly soundproof most of the car body while maintaining a reasonable weight for the entire conversion. It works exceptionally well on doors, roofs, or side panels, where it significantly reduces sheet metal resonances. It can also be used on the floor or wheel arches, but if you're building a van with maximum emphasis on soundproofing, it's worth opting for a stronger anti-vibration material in these most stressed areas. However, don't forget that vibrations spread throughout the entire body, so well-soundproofed doors or side panels will make a bigger difference while driving than most people realize.
