Renogy CORE 12V/40A – DC-DC Charger
The Renogy CORE 12V/40A is a DC-DC charger designed for recharging a service battery from an alternator while driving. The 40A charging current is a practical choice for common battery systems in RVs, caravans, expedition vehicles, or boats.
The charger supports both traditional and smart alternators and is suitable for LiFePO4, AGM, gel, and other deep cycle batteries. The three-stage charging algorithm automatically controls the entire charging process.

Three-stage Charging
Renogy CORE uses an automatic three-stage charging process: Bulk – Boost – Float. The charger adjusts individual phases according to the battery status to ensure the service battery is properly and efficiently recharged while driving.
For Traditional and Smart Alternators
The charger can be used with both traditional and modern smart alternators.
Using the D+ signal, it can detect a running engine and start charging only when power from the alternator is available. This helps prevent the starter battery from discharging when the engine is off.
The D+ cable is not included in the package.
Charging Current Limitation
The charging current can be limited using the LC connection. This is useful, for example, in installations where it is not desirable to use the full power of the charger or where it is necessary to reduce the load on the alternator.
The LC cable is not included in the package.
Battery Protection
Renogy CORE features several electronic protections that monitor both the charger and the connected battery system.
It also supports an external temperature sensor, which allows charging to be adjusted according to battery temperature.
The temperature sensor is not included in the package and is not intended for use with lithium batteries.
